Obviously many people want to customize certain parts of Andromium. So in order to enable this surely you could adopt the 'SharedPreferences' system (Which I have added in code below in case you don't know how to use it).
I think that there is demand for control over when the desktop ui launches (ie: with/without external power, with/without external display) as well as demand for an option to force close upon exit and remove the notification.
If you don't want to launch the settings activity from the main app launcher icon, then add a settings button to the notification to enable the user to access the settings and change certain aspects of the Andromium experience.
Write settings:
SharedPreferences.Editor editor = getSharedPreferences("User_Prefs", MODE_PRIVATE).edit();
editor.putString("Display_Name", "User"); editor.putBoolean("Force_Close_On_Exit", false); editor.putBoolean("Require_External_Power", true); editor.putBoolean("Require_External_Display", true); editor.putBoolean("Require_External_Input", true); editor.putInt("number", 0);
editor.commit(); Read settings:
SharedPreferences User_Prefs = getSharedPreferences(User_Prefs, MODE_PRIVATE);
String Display_Name = User_Prefs.getString("Display_Name", "User"); Boolean Force_Close = User_Prefs.getBoolean("Force_Close_On_Exit", false); //etc... Android Studio/Eclipse offer a quick way to create a new PreferenceActivity to help with that.

There's a place for that I agree. There'll be even more settings needed as Andromium grow. Hundreds of devices running on a single OS. Many will need to toggle things on and of to get the best experience.

We will be looking providing a setting's app in a few week. Currently we have been focus on primarily bug fixes and also getting ready for MWC.
PS: we are currently in discussion with a partner that will allow us to demo Andromium OS in one of their booth in MWC. If things goes well, we might even be able to land some hardware partners to bring Andromium OS to main stream consumer market.

I want to go but it will hurt my wallet it's rather expensive to attend hopefully I will go I certainly don't doubt that, I went to Droidcon London, which was quite small in comparison, but the folk that paid were paying a fortune. Luckily, I had a bit of time to spare that week, so I volunteered to help them set up the event, and got free tickets as a result, yet also they treated the volunteers like royalty, with first dibs on goody bags, free food & free beer at the after party. And it was a great way to meet new friends with similar interests. Though I'm not so sure that I'd pay that high amount to go to that same event (as it was pretty small in comparison to MWC tbh), it was a brilliant experience which I would recommend trying at least once, so if you have never been to an event like this, then at least try it once. I'm aware that Droidcon & MWC are about different things, but I'm sure that the experience meeting new people etc, is pretty much the same.

I think settings would be a welcome idea. For example, you could have seettings for changing things like icon and UI sizes (on my tablet, everything looks tiny,) and maybe adding icons to the homescreen.

Unfortunately we are currently delayed on development a configurable setting app for Andromium OS. It is still a planned feature, but will won't likely be ready until end of this year.
