hay I'm thinking about getting andromium and installing it on my galaxy note 4. i was wondering if there where any note 4 users who have installed andromium already and could answer some of my questions. first off does the andromium platform take advantage of the multi-window feature used on standard android apps? and secondly how well dose it preform under heavy usage?

Hi James, you can use existing Android apps in conjunction with Andromium OS, but only in full screen mode. We use the Note 4 as internal development device, and so far it can handle almost anything we throw at it (except for 1080p video streaming in youtube). Check it out yourself and report back you user experience -Gordon

Hello
I'm currently using a Meizu m2 note with an mediatek octacore MT6753. Because this phone don't support mhl I will be using chromecast for mirroring are you aware of any issues with mediatek chips or phones without mhl support. Performance wise the phone is similar to a Nexus 5 and HTC One m7.

Hi Scipy, there shouldn't be any major issues with MediaTek chipsets. But we haven't had a chance to test many phones with MediaTek SOC, please let us know your experience once you have chance to test it out.
Looking forward to hearing your test results

Thank you for the information Scipy. This is strange, what is the hardware specification of the M2 Note? I am wondering if it is a software or hardware issue. I know that Flyme is a custom version of Android, but usually as long as they stick close to AOSP api, Andromium OS should be supported.

Hi Scipy, from the look of the spec, M2 note should be able to support Andromium from a hardware standpoint. So I will have to assume that it is something software related with Meizu's custom android rom Flyme. if we can get our hand on a M2 Note, we can probably troubleshoot the problem, but without a M2Note on hand to test, it is very difficult for us to figure out the issue. -Gordon

Hi Lavoscracker, you should be able to use Andromium OS with Chromecast or other similar wireless display technologies, along with a bluetooth keyboard and mouse. We are currently behind schedule in making our desktop dock ready for consumer sales, but we still anticipate that we will have the dock ready for consumers purchase by Q1/Q2 of 2016. In the mean time, you can use Andromium OS (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.andromium.os) through a complete wireless setup as I suggested above, to get a peak into Andromium Platform functionalities. Hope that answer your questions

That's good. Hope you guys can make the Q1 schedule.
I'm using my PC just to browse the web and I'd love to have only one device to do that.
Hope that the continuum release from microsoft can help you guys a little bit, opening the market for this kind device a little more.

Hi lavoscracker, thank you for your support. Ya we think MS Continuum will help drive awareness of our platform to new users. Especially for Android users who are not looking to switch to the WM OS.

Hi Gordon, You have done something amazing and I am really interested in this project and comparing the competing concepts this feels more at home regarding the overall unification of hardware for all tasks. I personally dont see the sell for an android based Desktop OS but do find the concept of one device workstation attractive like what ASUS did with Padfones (albeit with major shortcomings).
I am a little underwhelmed by the fact that Andromium seems to be lost in the haystack while the other OS solutions have more visibility even though they required very specialized and multiple hardware and also the fact that Andromium hasn't had a nrw update since May 2015. Are you still live?
A few questions: Does the dock work for USB Type C? Is the right click capability included? Is the dock expandable to other PC accessories like Ethernet etc? Windows keyboard commands (CTRL based etc)? How about network drives and PCs?

Hi desainted thank you for the encouragement. To answer your question, yes we still very much alive. We been continuing improving the Andromium OS beta trials, with the latest version being release in November. On the hardware front, we are focusing all our attention on developing the andromium laptop. We are in the currently doing internal QA testing on the prototype laptop, and is hoping to run a kickstarter campaign for the laptop around March/April 2016 timeframe. To answer your specific questions about Andromium: 1) Yes the laptop dock is design to support Type-C, with backward compatibility with Micro-B for older devices 2) Yes, but not all devices can support right click currently (a software issue), we are slowing adding more devices support for right click function as newer version of Andromium Beta is released. Currently many devices are supported, including most Samsung devices. 3) Laptop will not have ethernet support (a cost issue), but desktop dock (which is targeted for Q4 of 2016) might have ethernet support. Currently undecided (a hardware limitation, software level support already there) 4) Yes, many CTRL command support are there, but not all, our SDK allow developer to add those command to their apps, but it is up to them to implement it. 5) Network drive possible, but not priority due to so much planned functionalities on the current project timeline. But with that say, third party developer/app can bring that functionality to Andromium. We hoping to have an official announcement closer to the laptop kickstarter launch date. But for now those are the information we can share Best, -Gordon

Hello!
Could you tell me how I can use your software with samsung s6 edge?
I am planning to buy a micro hdmi cable and Bluetooth keyboard/mouse combo. Does that combination works? will the phone charge via the hdmi cable?
