So I can't seem to find any equivalent lg branded product. Has anyone successfully used the Samsung smart dock with a lg g3? I wish I could get my hands on the actual andromium dock from the video... My computer broke yesterday and I came across this... Am considering not fixing my laptop again since this phone actually had more computing power... Please let me know!

Hi Jamesd, Unfortunately the LG G3 does not work with the Samsung Smartdock. LG phones have their own priority video out cable using the Slimport specification: www.amazon.com/SlimPort-Adapter-Smartphone-Micro-USB-Connects/dp/1061861740/This should work just as well with Andromium OS, however you will need bluetooth keyboard and mouse, since Slimport DOES NOT support USB keyboard/mouse

Hi wd0100, unfortunately the plan for the Andromium Samsung dock is currently on hold, as we are focusing all our resources on the laptop dock we shown at MWC: vimeo.com/121809236We might revisit the plan to launch the Andromium Samsung Dock again if we can find a OEM partner to help us launch commercially.

I was wondering since it's currently in beta. Will beta users be able to update for free once everything is in it final stages?
I currently use it while contacting on the road. And it has been very helpful to have a PC built-in to my Note4.
Than you for such a great tool!

This is installation instruction is for users who are using Andromium OS with the Andromium Samsung Phone dock, or an alternative dock that have the same functionality (HDMI output and 2 or more USB ports) 1) Install Andromium OS from the Playstore. 2) Click on the newly installed Andromium App to run it once. 3) Restart the device. (optional, but highly recommended after installation or Andromium OS updates) 4) Connect the Hardware Dock to external HDM monitor, USB power in, USB keyboard and mouse. 5) Wait until the phone is fully restarted, and the Andromium OS Icon is visible on the top Notification bar. 6) Hit the power button to turn off the phone display. 7) Dock the phone into the Andromium Dock. 8) Move the mouse to wake up the screen. 9) Use the mouse/keyboard to unlock the devices. This should now bring you to Andromium OS desktop. First time using Andromium OS: ( only need to done once) 1) Click on the keyboard icon on the lower right corner (should the first icon on the lower right corner) 2) Toggle the software keyboard switch to off. Now you are ready to go.

Hi Cubear, we haven't decide on the final pricing model for Andromium OS yet, the current thought is to keep it for free for most users, but have some "Premium" build-in apps or functionalities that user can unlock if/when they paid for the premium version. Right now that is still a early stage discussion, and we probably won't have such separation between free/premium until atleast next year.

This is a great idea!! I miss the desktop functionality I had with my old Moto Droid. My question is, will this be compatible with other manufacturers? I am a die hard Moto fan boy and would love to try this.
Thanks.

Hi Moto fan boy.
Most android device that have 2GB of ram running 4.4 or higher should run Andromium OS. However depending on the device, you will have to find your own video out connection to an external TV/Monitor
As for the Laptop dock, we currently still in discussion with many different Android manufactures, and won't know what the final devices support are going to be. We hoping to ideally support as many brand as possible.

I have just stumbled onto your forum from searching docks for my Note 4. I would like to add some input that hopefully could help some of the users on here with a problem with the Samsung docks and no sound/video when using wroth a Note 3 or 4. It seems that there is a power consumption issue when using the Note 4 anyhow, and certain usb keyboards and mice that had been fixed by using a higher powered adapter. ie: one that produces more amps. Or to use a wireless keyboard /mouse combo, so they aren't drawing power from the usb ports. These seemed to fix the problem.
I am glad I came across this forum. I am interested in using your OS.
Thanks for your time. Harry

Hi H. Foster, welcome to the forum, please do report in and let us know your experience using Andromium OS. Note 4 is one of the primary device we use for internal development, so in theory there shouldn't be any issues on the software side. But it is always nice to have external user feedbacks.
Best,
-Gordon
