I was able to use a Note2 with a Bluetooth keyboard / mouse pad combo with a HDMI converter cable. I found the look and feel of the AndroniumOS and apps very appealing. Not sure why Netflix is listed as a compatible app. I had to use the phone to operate Netflix because it defaulted to the mobile app. Using the mobile app version is ok for most in that they respond to the mouse.
I plan to use a similar setup for my Mother using her Note4 and a MHL3.0 cable. Hope it works even better.
Please keep up the good work and the good fight. Before you know it you will be at the table with Apple and Microsoft.

Thank you for RogueSGT. please do report in and let us know your experience with your mother using Note 4. We internally use Note 4 as development device, so in theory it should work great. But we always want to hear real world user feedbacks.
As far as why Netflix is listed as compatible app. The reason we list Netflix as such is because we have done testing internally to know that Netflix is compatible with keyboard and mouse through it's UI, and also can be minimized and restored to full size without any issues. So we feel that it is sufficiently "functional" to be listed as compatible.
Long term once we have a public developer SDK available, we hope that Netflix will use our SDK to develop a true native Andromium app. But for now users can still Netflix and other compatible apps that we tested and is known to be "functional" with Andromium OS.
PS: We also testing a few apps that doesn't not work at all with keyboard and mouse (for example Google Earth), or conflict with some of the Andromium enhanced API (like Samsung Video), but we decided not to "Blacklist" them since future updates can make them compatible.
Best,
-Gordon

This is installation instruction is for users who are using Andromium OS with the Andromium Samsung Phone dock, or an alternative dock that have the same functionality (HDMI output and 2 or more USB ports) 1) Install Andromium OS from the Playstore. 2) Click on the newly installed Andromium App to run it once. 3) Restart the device. (optional, but highly recommended after installation or Andromium OS updates) 4) Connect the Hardware Dock to external HDM monitor, USB power in, USB keyboard and mouse. 5) Wait until the phone is fully restarted, and the Andromium OS Icon is visible on the top Notification bar. 6) Hit the power button to turn off the phone display. 7) Dock the phone into the Andromium Dock. 8) Move the mouse to wake up the screen. 9) Use the mouse/keyboard to unlock the devices. This should now bring you to Andromium OS desktop. First time using Andromium OS: ( only need to done once) 1) Click on the keyboard icon on the lower right corner (should the first icon on the lower right corner) 2) Toggle the software keyboard switch to off. Now you are ready to go.

Hey Gordon,
Just wondering if there is a dock you can recommend for the LG G4? Also just wondering how we can support the project?

HI LG G4, unfortunately, LG G4 doesn't have any video out over USB functionalities build in. So for now the best way to run Andromium OS is using a wireless display adaptors like Chromecast. Alternatively if you have a Displaylink adaptors on hand, they can work with you G4 also, but DisplayLink Android driver are still in beta, so there might still be some bugs on their end. We are currently contemplating doing another kickstarter with either the laptop dock concept or a wireless desktop dock. Please sign up for our email list at our website www.andromiumos.com or check back to check on the forum periodically to get the latest updates on that Best, -Gordon

Hey,
what about a vm like shell under Windows, Linux or Mac? Would like to see something like that so I dont have to pick up the phone anytime a message arrives. And no, VNC is not a solution.
Thanks

Hi Timo, unfortunately that is not what Andromium was design for, however if this is the functionality you are after, I think there are solutions offer by both Moto and Samsung that might fit your needs.
